Hacking the commercial function of a product, this installation proposes an ironic view of our self-indulgent society within the consequences of human overpopulation (consequences as pollution, children labor, among others): the audience can change their perception of the optimistic message of a “newborn baby musical greeting-card”. The circuit of this product has been modified so the audience can alterate the “lullaby” song of the card, turning its music into noise as a way to destroy the melody and the ‘comfortable’ feeling that the greeting card was designed to give originally. The possibility to change and destroy the melody is an act that refers to our direct and indirect involvement in the mentioned problems. Read text in Spanish.
